If you do download and install GOG Galaxy, opening it reveals something almost identical to the GOG website, and where you can perform basically the same tasks - browsing the store, buying games, and so on. But the sidebar will also list titles you've installed using GOG Galaxy (note that it cannot magically detect any GOG games you've installed manually).

GOG Galaxy Games, a popular video game digital distribution platform that enables users to purchase new games and launch them from their desktop, is riddled with vulnerabilities, according to researchers at Cisco Talos.
This drag-to-delete method works in all versions of Mac OS X. Most 3rd party apps can be smoothly uninstalled in that way, but you cannot delete built-in apps by doing this. Some apps installed using the Mac package installer will prompt you for a password when you try to move it to the Trash. In any case you cannot move GOG Galaxy (beta) 1.0.3 to the Trash or empty the Trash, try holding the Option key as you choose Empty Trash from the Finder menu, or reboot your Mac and try it again later.
